Grateful thanks to a descendent of William Ibbetson who kindly provided this inscription, which is now illegible.
William Ibbetson was born in 1758 in Goole Fields. He was the son of John and Mary Ibbetson .
William Ibbetson was married twice. He married his first wife, Mary Blackader, in Hook in 1783. The couple's son, William Ibbetson (Junior), is in Grave No. 201. William (Junior) married Mary Ann Smith in Airmyn in 1821.
William (Senior)'s second wife was Phoebe Kay of Sykehouse. The couple married in 1815 in Snaith and had four children, Sally, Amos, Samuel and Hannah. Sadly, following William's death, Phoebe fell on hard times and died in 1870 in Goole Union Workhouse. She is buried in Goole Parish Churchyard.
