Ward (aka Ware) Box was born c.1820 in Hook, Yorkshire. He was the son of George and Sophia Box (nee Ware).
From at least 1871 Ward was living with his wife, Mary (nee Sykes) at the Brewer's Arms in Water Lane, where he worked as Innkeeper until his death in 1882.
